Does APA 7 need a DOI?
Yes, whenever the work has one. APA 7 writes it as a link, https://doi.org/ followed by the DOI, with no "Retrieved from" and no full stop after it.
Where does the citation data come from?
From Crossref, the registry publishers use for DOIs, and from OpenAlex for books and papers Crossref does not list. We format what the record says and never fill a gap with a guess.
Why does a name or place in my title look lowercase?
Styles that use sentence case lowercase every word after the first. We keep acronyms, but we cannot tell a proper noun from an ordinary word, so check names of people, places and organisations before you submit.
